Atascadero house fire under investigation
An Atascadero home was damaged in a residential fire Saturday, according to an Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services news release.
The fire in the 4800 block of Miramon Avenue began in the house’s backyard before spreading to the structure, with crews initiating fire response for both the inside and outside of the structure at the same time, according to the release.
Atascadero Fire, Atascadero Police, Templeton Fire, Cal Fire, Atascadero State Hospital Fire, Paso Robles Fire and San Luis Ambulance responded at approximately 12:40 p.m. with 28 personnel, according to the release.
“Crews had to pull ceiling material down to access the flames and keep the fire from spreading throughout the entire structure,” the release said.
The fire was controlled within 22 minutes, according to the release, though crews remained on scene for several more hours for further fire extinguishing, collecting residents’ personal belongings and investigating the scene.
All residents of the home were found safe and accounted for, according to the release.
The fire is under investigation by Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services and the San Luis Obispo County Arson Task Force.
