Highway 101 paving project to cause overnight lane, ramp closures. How long it will last?
Drivers can expect overnight traffic delays on Highway 101 in Atascadero for months due to a paving project.
The roadwork, which kicks off Tuesday, affects Highway 101 just south of the Santa Barbara Road overcrossing to the Traffic Way undercrossing, according to a Caltrans news release.
Drivers will encounter night work on northbound Highway 101 resulting in ramp closures and a single lane closure 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, Caltrans said.
Work on southbound lanes will result in ramp closures 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, the release said.
According to Caltrans, a single lane will also be closed to traffic 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday.
“Delays should not exceed 10 minutes,” Caltrans said. “Message signs will assist motorists traveling through this area.”
Papich Construction of Arroyo Grande is the contractor for the $3.2 million paving project.
The project is expected to be completed in October, according to the release.
