This SLO County coffee shop is one of Yelp’s best ‘dog park bars’ to visit in 2022

The next time you are on the North Coast with your furry pal, considering stopping in at Top Dog Coffee Bar — one of the nation’s best “dog park bars,” according to a new Yelp ranking.

Top Dog Coffee Bar, located at 857 Main St. in Morro Bay, recently made Yelp community’s “25 dog park bars to visit in 2022” list. The list features dog-friendly bars from New York, Toronto, Colorado and more.

According to Yelp, the list curates the best dog park bars across North America “where you can have a drink and bring your furry friend too.”

The Morro Bay shop opened in 1996 and serves locals with coffee, food, craft beer and wine — all of which can be enjoyed with the company of your dog.

Top Dog roasts its coffee in-house through its joint Rescue Me Coffee Company, which give a percentage of every purchase to rescue organizations, according to its website.

“We are a locally owned business that focuses on bringing our community together, as well as giving back,” Top Dog Marketing Director Kelcie Raecyna wrote in an email to The Tribune. “All customers and dogs can expect to receive a warm welcome along with a tasty treat when walking through our doors.”

The company’s “Coffee with a Cause” also supports service dog programs and first responders, Raecyna said.

Top Dog Coffee Bar is open every day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
