Cayucos celebrates Fourth of July in style. Here’s a look

Cayucos celebrated Independence Day in patriotic style on Monday.

The North Coast community kicked off its Fourth of July celebration early Monday morning as artists created elaborate sand sculptures on either side of the Cayucos Pier.

Winners were announced and prizes awarded shortly before the start of the Hometown Cayucos Parade, an old-fashioned affair featuring decorated floats and vehicles parading down Ocean Avenue.

Visitors enjoyed shopping, barbecue and bingo at the Front Street Faire before watching fireworks explode off the Cayucos Pier.
