Headed to Fresno? Highway 41 will be fully closed, so get ready for a detour

Road work

Drivers heading to and from Fresno, take note: On Wednesday, a key stretch of Highway 41 will be fully closed from the Cholame “Y” to the intersection with Highway 33.

The closure, which is for a paving project, will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will force motorists to take a triangle-shaped detour out Highway 46 East to Highway 33 North, according to Caltrans.

Caltrans is paving the road for “a smoother ride for everyone,” spokeswoman Alexa Bertola said in a news release.

Drivers can detour on Highway 46 East to State Route 33 North and hop back on Highway 41 just south of Kettleman City, according to Bertola.

“Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down while driving through highway construction zones,” Bertola said.
