The San Luis Obispo Police Department is looking for a runaway teen who jumped out of a county vehicle Tuesday.

Ryan Montoya, 15, reportedly jumped out of a Child Welfare Services vehicle at the intersection of South Higuera and Prado Road around 5:15 p.m.

He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt, jeans and hiking boots. Authorities say it is likely he changed his clothing at his father’s Grover Beach home after running away from CWS.

Montoya has run away before and is known to frequent transient camps, Grover Beach, Monarch Dunes/Pismo Reserve, and beach areas in and around the South County. He is also diagnosed with high-functioning autism.

SLO police ask anyone with information about Montoya’s whereabouts to call their local law enforcement agency or SLOPD 805-781-7312.
