Cal Fire SLO fights Santa Maria fire that has potential to grow to 50 acres

A vegetation fire that broke out Sunday near Highway 166 is spreading at a “moderate to dangerous rate” with the potential for 50 acres, Cal Fire SLO said.

The fire broke out on Suey Creek Road in Santa Maria, according to the emergency response app PulsePoint.

It had burned about 10 to 15 acres, according to Cal Fire.

Cal Fire has been responding to the fire since about 12:50 p.m. Sunday.
