Emmy Award-winning actor Dennis Quaid will perform a show at San Luis Obispo’s Fremont Theater on May 17.

Quaid, also a singer-songwriter, will share stories about his film career and play music as part of his tour.

“Quaid captivates the audiences with engaging stories about his illustrious film career and stories behind the highly personal songs that will populate his forthcoming inspirational album set for release,” a news release noted.

Quaid’s shows included favorite songs from Jerry Lee Lewis, whom Quaid portrayed in the film “Great Balls of Fire!” Quaid mixes in the rock ‘n’ roll hits on the piano, as well as country standards with his acoustic guitar.

His films include “The Rookie,” “The Day After Tomorrow,” “Traffic,” “The Parent Trap,” “Soul Surfer,” “The Right Stuff” and more.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $39.50 to $64.

As of March 20, 2022, the Fremont Theater will no longer require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test, according to the theater’s website. Facial coverings are optional.
