Woods Humane Society to hold 2 free pet vaccine clinics

Woods Humane Society will host two free pet vaccine clinics this month.

The vaccination clinics, put on in partnership with national nonprofit Petco Love, will be held Saturday, March 12, and Saturday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Daphne Fahsing Spay & Neuter Clinic, 2300 Ramona Road in Atascadero, Woods said in a news release.

Petco Love established March as “National Pet Vaccination Month” to encourage pet owners to keep their animals up to date on vaccinations, the release said.

Woods Humane Society aims to vaccinate 400 pets through this effort.

Puppy and kitten season brings a high risk of diseases such as parvovirus, distemper and panleukopenia, which are preventable through vaccination.

The DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines will also be offered with spay or neuter appointments booked through SpaySLOCounty.com at Woods clinics during the month of March.
