Paso Robles police searching for suspect in bank robbery at grocery store
Paso Robles police are searching for a suspect in a robbery at the U.S. Bank branch at a local Albertsons grocery store.
The robbery occurred just after 12:30 p.m. at 189 Niblick Road.
Police said the suspect, described as a white adult male wearing a black sweatshirt and black face mask, went to the bank branch and demanded the teller give him money.
The teller complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of money, according to a press release sent by the Paso Robles Police Department at about 4 p.m.
Once he received the money, the man then left the bank and Albertsons and ran west toward the Salinas riverbed area, police said.
Police and K-9 Renzo went out to the area to search for the man, who may have fled through a drainage culvert and entered a waiting vehicle in the 200 block of Oak Hill Road, according to police.
Police were unable to locate the suspect and continue to investigate.
A representative at the bank was unable to comment on the incident.
