Traffic on northbound Highway 101 through San Luis Obispo has slowed to a crawl at many points following a big-rig crash on the Cuesta Grade.

According to CHP traffic logs, a Tesla and a big-rig collided on the highway around 3:55 p.m., blocking the third lane just before Cuesta Springs Road.

At around that same time, CHP traffic logs and Caltrans’ Quick Map show reports of light roadway flooding in the area due to the rain, with vehicles hydroplaning.

As of 5 p.m., the lane has been cleared, but traffic is still backed up to Monterey Street, according to Caltrans’ traffic cams.

Heavy traffic has also been reported along Highway 101 through Pismo Beach and on Highway 227 near the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.

A request for comment from CHP was not immediately returned Wednesday evening.
