Should Cambria Christmas Market be open or closed to the public? Vote in our poll here

The Cambria Christmas Market will once again have attendance restricted to those with select hotel or dinner reservations, organizers announced Sunday, prompting an immediate wave of backlash from critics and support from community members.

Organizers confirmed Sunday through Wednesday that, due in part to a delay in the process to get the event’s county permit, the only people able to attend the popular holiday event this season will be those who stay at Cambria Pines Lodge or two other properties owned by the same firm, or dinner patrons who partake in a special German-style or other dinner at the Lodge.

That’s similar to the way the market operated in 2020 during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, when San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department guidelines made it difficult to open the event to the public.

In the wake of the announcement, San Luis Obispo County residents were divided on whether it was the right decision.

So we want to know: Do you think the market should be open to the public this year, or restricted only to hotel and dinner guests?

Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below.
