The FCA All-Star Football Classic game celebrates its 10th anniversary this weekend — pitting a team of San Luis Obispo County high school players against a one from Northern Santa Barbara County.

In total, 41 SLO County players from six local high schools will be participating in the game.

Gates open at 3 p.m. for the 5 p.m. Saturday game at Lompoc High School.

Game tickets are sold for $10 each online at the following link, with limited capacity this year: centralcoastfca.org/football. Tickets can be purchased at the gate as well.

Four free tickets will be provided to players for their families to attend.

“The purpose of the FCA All-Star Football Classic is to showcase local high school seniors’ football talent on the Central Coast, to recognize honorary coaches and officials who have had a tremendous impact on our community, to promote FCA’s core values of integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence and to help raise financial support for local high school athletics,” said event coordinator Luke LLamas.

FCA’s mission statement is: “To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his church.”

The event also is a fundraiser for local high school athletic programs and has raised more than $1.3 million for local high schools since the inaugural game in 2011.

“We raffle off a $20,000 voucher toward a new car at halftime,” Llamas said. “The schools sell raffle tickets in the community and keep 100% of the proceeds from what they sell. Fourteen local car dealerships donate money to help us raffle off the $20,000 voucher.”
