Santa Maria police officers search for missing ‘at risk’ adult

The Santa Maria Police Department is searching for a 56-year-old man who was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at his Santa Maria home

Jesus Avila, who also goes by Chuy, appears to have left voluntarily from his home, according to a news release. However, Avila is considered “at risk” due to multiple health conditions, police said.

Avila is described as a 5-foot-8 Hispanic man who weighs around 185 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, according to police.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue denim jacket and possibly a baseball cap, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Maria Police Department at 805-928-3781.
