Ravine Water Park in Paso Robles closed for 2020 season due to coronavirus

The Ravine Water Park in Paso Robles will remain closed for summer due to coronavirus health regulations and season pass holder safety concerns.

The park announced the cancellation of its 2020 season on Wednesday in a post on its Facebook page.

“We are deeply disappointed, and this is not a decision that came lightly,” the post said. “Ultimately, though, we care about our community, and we’ll do our part to get our great state of California back on its feet.

“We realize that this decision will be disappointing to many guests, but we have made this decision out of an abundance of caution and for the safety, comfort and well-being of our guests and staff members.”

The post said season pass holders and other guests have reached out to park management “expressing their ongoing fear of exposure this summer to the COVID-19 virus.”

“A large number of pass holders said that they do not feel comfortable going into large gatherings, including the Ravine, this summer and would rather redeem their passes next summer,” the post said.

The park isn’t currently able to operate under state and San Luis Obispo County coronavirus health and safety regulations.

In addition, state directives — including those mandating masks, social distancing in public areas and reduced seating — “make it very difficult for our guests to have a positive experience this summer,” the post said.

All 2020 passes will automatically be extended through the 2021 season, and any tickets set to expire this year will now expire next year.

“On behalf of our entire team, we hope that you and your family remain well, and we will miss seeing you this summer!” the post said. “The Ravine Water Park is a park built on fun, togetherness, and creating shared experiences and memories.

“Summer’s just not summer without the Ravine. It’s true, but we will all get through this together, and know that we’ll be right here ready to provide those amazing expriences and memories for you in 2021.”
