Paso Robles Police officers arrested a driver suspected of causing a three-vehicle collision on the Niblick Bridge on Sunday morning.

The crash took place about 8:25 a.m. on Niblick Road and South River Road, near Woodland Plaza II.

According to police, Ivan Sandoval Fairas, 24, was under the influence of drugs when driving recklessly, heading eastbound on the bridge.

Sandoval Fairas lost control of his vehicle and collided with two other cars in front of Walmart.

People in the two vehicles that were hit had minor to moderate injuries, according to the Paso Robles Police.

One woman was trapped in her vehicle. Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services was able to free her.

According to a news release, Sandoval Fairas fled on foot but was caught by police.

He was on probation and had a suspended license. He was also in possession of methamphetamine, police said.

He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail about 2 p.m. on suspicion of possession of narcotics, felony hit and run, felony DUI, driving on a suspended license, and a probation violation.

Sandoval Fairas is a person of interest in several vehicle pursuits this month involving the California Highway Patrol, San Luis Obispo Police Department, Pismo Beach Police Department and the Paso Robles Police Department.

A $500,000 bail enhancement was authorized, according to the release.
