Truck crashes through San Luis Obispo hotel into coffee shop

A truck crashed through a hotel and into a coffee shop in San Luis Obispo on Wednesday afternoon, prompting officials to close off part of a nearby street.

According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the vehicle was headed westbound on Monterey Street when it crashed through a room at the Los Padres Inn and into the barista area of The 4 Cats Cafe and Gallery around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was injured in the crash, police said. However, a water line and gas line were broken, and people were asked to avoid the area.

Police officers were mopping up the flooded cafe Wednesday afternoon. Southern California Gas Co. were on the scene as well.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the incident.
