Fire in rural Arroyo Grande destroys structure, possibly injures person, Cal Fire says

Cal Fire is investigating the cause of a residential structure fire that destroyed an outbuilding and may have injured someone in rural Arroyo Grande on Thursday morning.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the 1200 block of Deer Canyon Road at around 10:20 a.m. Thursday, Cal Fire said via Twitter.

Smoke and flames were seen coming from the attic of a structure near Highway 227, Cal Fire said.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a shed on fire, but crews with fire engine No. 21 were able to keep the blaze from significantly damaging an attached home, Cal Fire said.

Medics with San Luis Ambulance treated and released a potential burn victim with a possible injury, Cal Fire said.

Crews will remain in the area for several hours for clean up, the agency said.
