Headed to the Valley? Expect delays for repaving work on Hwy. 41 east of Cholame ‘Y’

Drivers headed to and from the Valley on Highway 41 should expect delays over the next three weeks as Caltrans crews work to repave a stretch of the road east of the Cholame “Y.”

The work to grind and pave 7 miles of northbound Highway 41 began on Monday.

As a result, motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic on Highway 41 this week through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 pm.

The work will result in delays of no more than 30 minutes, Caltrans said in a news release.

The roadwork will resume Monday, June 22, through Thursday, June 25, and Monday, June 29, through Thursday, July 2, during the same hours.

Electronic message boards will alert motorists of these closures, and the CHP will be present on site.
