Field of Light at Sensorio in Paso Robles closes due to coronavirus outbreak

Field of Light at Sensorio in Paso Robles will remain closed until mid-April, the attraction announced Thursday.

The art installation — which is made up of 58,000 fiber optic lights covering a field of rolling hills off Highway 46 East — is closed until April 16, according to the attraction’s website.

Tickets can be transferred to a future date, or visitors can request a refund, the site said.

Field of Light is one of many San Luis Obispo County attractions to close or cancel events due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Downtown San Luis Obispo Farmers’ Market, the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival and the Spartan race in Santa Margarita have all been canceled to help curb the spread of the virus.

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday urged Californians to cancel or postpone events that would draw 250 people or more.

There had been no reports of COVID-19 cases in the county as of Thursday afternoon.

In December, organizers announced the Field of Light will remain open through June 2020. Starting April 16, the attraction will be open 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
