SLO County Supervisor Adam Hill released from emergency room and under doctors’ care
Supervisor Adam Hill was in recovery and under doctors’ care Thursday afternoon, one day after being taken to the emergency room at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, according to a family member.
“Adam is alive. He is in recovery and all of our thoughts, prayers, and hopes are with him,” Hill’s wife, Dee Torres-Hill, told The Tribune.
Details about his medical event have not been confirmed. Emergency personnel were called to his home in Pismo Beach around 1:22 p.m. Wednesday. He was released from the emergency room to doctors’ care on Thursday afternoon, Torres-Hill said.
“We sincerely need a little time to sort things out, and we ask for some private space while we do that,” Torres-Hill said.
San Luis Obispo County spokesperson Whitney Szentesi confirmed Thursday morning that Hill was taken to the hospital, adding that “as recognition of his right to privacy, we’re not going to answer any questions about his personal health.”
Supervisor Bruce Gibson, Hill’s friend and political ally, told The Tribune that the “last time I talked to Adam, he was on the dias and he was doing a really good job.”
Hill is currently chair of the Board of Supervisors, which last met on Tuesday.
Ballots are still being counted in the election between Hill and challenger Stacy Korsgaden for the District 3 seat on the county board.
The most recent count totals released Monday night show Hill in the lead with 51.3% of the votes.
