SLO County antiques store closes — to move to Idaho

Donovan James Antiques and Estate Jewelry in Cayucos has closed.

According to the business’s Facebook page, the family-owned-and-operated store’s final day of operation at 248 S. Ocean Avenue was Feb. 10. The shop is moving to Eagle, Idaho, the Donovan James website says.

The store had launched an extensive closing sale, with prices discounted by up to 70%, depending on the category.

Donovan James advertised itself as “the only estate jewelry store between Monterey and Santa Barbara.” The business also sold costume jewelry, watches, art, books, stemware, serving ware, furniture, antiques and more.

The shop’s owners or representatives did not respond to several calls for comment via phone and email.
