Multiple car crashes near Pismo Beach snarl morning commute on Highway 101

Northbound traffic on Highway 101 near Pismo Beach backed up Monday morning after multiple car crashes.

The No. 1 lane near Price Street was blocked by emergency vehicles at 9:20 a.m, according to the CHP traffic information page.

The first collision occurred around 8:45 a.m. involving three cars, the CHP reported. Another crash involving six cars was reported about 15 minutes later.

No injuries were reported.

Caltrans said both lanes of northbound Highway 101 were cleared by 10:30 a.m. and were open once again.
