Dancing horses performed and more than two dozen vendors cooked up tamales Saturday at a busy Atascadero Tamale Festival at the Sunken Gardens.
The event, in its third year, featured a “Best Tamale” contest and a variety of tamale vendors from throughout California. There was also a tamale-eating contest. Mariachi bands played at the event, which included a variety of entertainment.
There were zorbing balls, bungee jumping, an obstacle course, face painting and activities for kids.
