Santa takes pre-Christmas detour to Arroyo Grande
Santa Claus, aka Jack von Biela of Arroyo Grande, has been asking kids of all ages (and adults) what they’d like for Christmas on the front porch of the Conrad House at 208 Branch St., in Arroyo Grande.
For the past four years, von Biela has been Santa Claus for the city of Arroyo Grande. He’s on hand in Arroyo Grande until Christmas on Wednesdays and Fridays from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
From 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Arroyo Grande was set to celebrate an “Elegant Christmas in the Village.” The event was to feature shop owners dressed in Christmas finery, serving treats and drinks in their decorated stores, with carolers on hand to serenade visitors.
