Containment on the Pozo Fire has risen to 90 percent, according to Los Padres National Forest Service spokesman Andrew Madsen.

As of about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, the fire had burned about 45 acres of land, Madsen said.

“We’re very optimistic that by the end of today we’ll have full containment,” Madsen said, adding that favorable weather conditions on Wednesday morning were helping firefighters.

The Pozo fire started on Monday afternoon on the area of 3055 W. Pozo Road and injured one firefighter.
