SLO gets sweet and crunchy at Apples and Honey Festival

Sunday’s Apples and Honey Festival featured apple fruit booths, apple-themed games, apple arts and crafts for kids, gourmet applesauce, honey tasting and every type of baked apple goods you could think of. The free event at San Luis Obispo’s Mitchell Park, is sponsored by the JCC-Federation of San Luis Obispo and coincides with the start of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. In keeping with the holiday, kosher hot dogs and the Jewish pastry rugelach were also served. Storytelling and an animal showcase from Atascadero’s Charles Paddock Zoo wer also part of the festivities.
