Not sure if your child’s car seat is strapped in right?

The county Public Health Department is conducting a car seat checkup in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Target parking lot off Los Osos Valley Road, according to a news release.

The checkup, which was put together with help from the California Highway Patrol, SLO Police Department and other community partners, is meant to educate parents and caregivers on choosing the right car seat for their child and how to properly install the car seat.

Using the right car seat helps reduce infants’ and toddlers’ chances of being fatally injured in a car crash, the news release said.
