Kayaker rescued after getting stuck on rock off Dinosaur Caves Park
A kayaker who got stuck on a rock a quarter-mile offshore from the Dinosaur Caves Park was escorted back to shore by a Port San Luis Harbor Patrol boat on Monday.
At about 10:30 a.m., Cal Fire reported that a kayaker got stuck on a rock close to one known as Bird Rock, near Pismo Beach. The man was doing some fishing around the area when he got stuck on the rock and called 911, said Cal Fire spokesman Chris Elms.
Cal Fire sent a full response, Elms said, but the Port San Luis boat was closest and escorted the kayaker back to shore.
The kayaker was not injured, Elms said.
