Ringing in the new year in SLO — at noon with a balloon drop

For those with bedtimes earlier than midnight, the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum held its ninth annual “Noon Year’s Eve Celebration” on Saturday.

Children could make crowns, shake noisemakers and enjoy a toast with apple juice. Parents and kids counted down from 10, waiting for a huge pile of balloons to drop onto their heads.
