Huge waves and high tide make for one big splash in Pismo Beach

A combination of huge waves and high tide make for a spectacular splash on the Pismo Beach Pier on Sunday. San Luis Obispo County is in the midst of a week of high surf. Sunday’s northwesterly swell peaked at 11.7 feet, and after easing back Monday and Tuesday, conditions that will result in even larger waves are expected Wednesday, according to PG&E meteorologist John Lindsey. Lindsey predicts the swell will top out in the 11- to 13-foot range that day.
