Aircraft makes emergency landing near Pozo Saloon

An aircraft made an emergency landing near the Pozo Saloon southeast of Santa Margarita on Monday, but no one was injured, according to Cal Fire.

The small plane landed near an old airstrip after the pilot alerted the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport that the aircraft was experiencing a “rough running engine” and would not make it there, according to Cal Fire officials.

Cal Fire received the call about 11:30 a.m. A Cal Fire official said he believed two people were in the aircraft; neither was injured.
