Did you test positive for COVID with an at-home kit? SLO County wants your results
This holiday season, more San Luis Obispo County residents are using COVID-19 self-test kits — but Public Health officials still want to collect results from those who test positive and make sure they isolate.
The county Public Health Department has created an online portal for people who test positive for COVID-19 using an at-home kit so they can report their results and “receive important instructions to protect you and those around you,” a Public Health news release said.
To report a positive test, visit SLOPublicHealth.org/testing.
Those who test positive should also immediately isolate for 10 days, regardless of their vaccination status or whether you have symptoms, the release said. They should also tell close contacts they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
People who test negative for COVID-19 and think their result is incorrect should contact their healthcare provider to learn whether they need an additional test, especially if they have symptoms or may have been exposed to the virus.
“We thank our fellow community members for their diligence in getting tested and helping us slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Dr. Penny Borenstein, county Public Health officer, in the release. “But the best way to stay safe is to get fully vaccinated, mask up in indoor public spaces, get your booster shot, and stay home if you are sick.”
