California Gov. Gavin Newsom delivered remarks on the coronavirus pandemic at his noon press conference on Wednesday. Watch a recording of the livestream by clicking on the video below.

On Tuesday, Newsom highlighted six criteria that the state would use to consider re-opening for business. That criteria included the ability to monitor and protect communities through testing, the ability to prevent infection for people at risk of severe COVID-19, the ability of hospitals to handle a surge of demand, the ability to develop therapeutics to treat demand, the ability of business, schools and public facilities to support physical distancing and the ability to determine when to re-institute measures such as stay-at-home orders if necessary.

The governor said that in two weeks, if the curve continues to flatten and hospitalizations and intensive care unit visits decline, he would be willing to revisit setting a date for re-opening the state.
