Here’s what we know about the 67 confirmed SLO County coronavirus cases

The worldwide coronavirus pandemic has hit San Luis Obispo County — so far, there are 67 confirmed local COVID-19 patients, according to county Public Health officials.

Authorities reported the first positive test in the county on Saturday, March 14. Since then, newly confirmed cases have been announced nearly every day.

“We absolutely anticipate that our numbers will go up at a rapid rate,” said Dr. Penny Borenstein, county Public Health Officer, at a March 17 news conference.

Public Health officials on Friday, March 27, began releasing the number of cases in each of the county’s seven cities.

Some of the confirmed COVID-19 patients were also tested using private labs, Borenstein said. The total number of private tests performed on local residents is currently unknown.

We’ll track the county’s confirmed COVID-19 cases and update them daily as new patients are announced.
