The U.S. Bureau of Land Management, Kern County, Cal Fire and Forest Service helped respond to the fire which burned 419 acres, according to BLM spokesperson Sarah Denos.

Smoke and glow were visible on fire cameras at around 4:30 a.m. on Soda Lake and Elkhorn roads near the Kern and San Luis Obispo county lines, according to emergency response app Watch Duty.

The fire was between 15% and 20% contained by 8 a.m., according to Watch Duty.

Three Cal Fire engines were at the scene early Saturday morning, according to emergency services app PulsePoint, but the incident appeared to have by cleared by 8:55 a.m.

The fire was located on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management land, so Cal Fire sent three fire trucks, two hand crews and one battalion chief to help stifle the burn, Cal Fire division chief Garrett Veyna told The Tribune.

The Bureau of Land Management was expected to trace the fire’s path and map the burn lines later Saturday.
