Thomas Fire grows slightly overnight, but still 25 percent contained
The Thomas Fire grew by 1,500 acres Tuesday night, bringing its acreage up to 237,500, Cal Fire said in a morning update. Crews kept containment at 25 percent.
The blaze has now destroyed 921 structures and damaged 196 more. 18,000 structures are still threatened.
Almost 8,000 fire personnel have responded.
“Severe fire weather” is expected to push the fire further into Santa Barbara County, threatening Montecito and Summerland, Cal Fire said.
