Player lands $1 million-plus jackpot on $3 bet at Sacramento-area casino

A woman won $1,099,735 on a $3 bet while playing a slot machine at Sky River Casino near Sacramento.

The woman hit the “life-changing” jackpot on a Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money machine Thursday, the casino said in a news release.

It’s the largest jackpot in the casino’s history.

The casino, which opened in 2022, spans 100,000 square feet with more than 2,500 slot machines and more than 80 table games. It has 18 restaurants and bars.

Owned by the Wilton Rancheria in partnership with Boyd Gaming Corporation, the casino is located at 1 Sky River Parkway in Elk Grove, about a 15-mile drive southeast from downtown Sacramento.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
