8 California ZIP codes rank among 10 most expensive in US. See which ones
Buying a home in California? You can expect to pay some of the highest prices in the nation, according to PropertyShark.
A new ranking from the real estate website found that eight of the nation’s 10 most expensive ZIP codes are in the Golden State.
“In 2025, Florida’s rise was the standout story as Miami Beach’s Fisher Island claimed the nation’s top spot,” PropertyShark said in its Oct. 9 report.
The No. 1 priciest place on the list of the Top 100 Most Expensive US ZIP Codes was 33109 — Miami Beach, Florida — with a median home sale price of $9.5 million in 2025.
“However, California maintained broad dominance through Newport Beach and Los Angeles, while the Bay Area contracted,” the real estate site said.
According to PropertyShark, here’s which California ZIP codes rank among the most expensive housing markets in the nation, and why:

The 93108 ZIP code, which includes Santa Barbara, ranked sixth in the nation with a 2025 median home price of $5.2 million, according to PropertyShark.
Limited inventory and steady demand in the affluent Santa Barbara County enclave of Montecito have pushed home prices up $1 million over the past five years, the real estate site said.
Stinson Beach in Marin County — ZIP code 94970 — saw one of the biggest jumps in housing costs, with median sales prices rising 38% from 2024 to $5.23 million, PropertyShark said.
That marked the first time median home sales prices in the community surpassed $5 million.
