California is home to 22 of the ‘most beloved’ restaurants in the US, rankings show

California has 22 of the top restaurants in the U.S. this year, new rankings by OpenTable show.

OpenTable released its list of “Top 100 Most Beloved Restaurants in America for 2022” on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

The list features eateries that serve different cuisines across California, including Mexican, American soul food, Italian, Mediterranean, Pacific Coastal and Peruvian.

To find the top 100 restaurants in the country, OpenTable looked at diner reviews between Oct. 1, 2021, and Sept. 30, 2022, with an “overall” score and “number of qualifying reviews.”

“This score was made up of “diner rating, user klout, total number of reviews and regional overall rating. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the overall score.”
