Hiker stranded on steep trail in canyon rescued, California firefighters say
A 29-year-old woman who became stranded on a steep trail while hiking in Runyon Canyon called Los Angeles firefighters for help Friday, officials reported.
Firefighters found the woman in the canyon in Hollywood Hills West about 1 p.m., a news release said. Although she was uninjured, she couldn’t descend the trail on her own.
Firefighters rigged a rope system to lower her and a rescuer to safety, the release said. She was then able to walk out on her own.
