Gunman opens fire after getting kicked out of Super Bowl party, San Francisco cops say

San Francisco police responded to a shooting at a Super Bowl watch party on Feb. 2 at a San Francisco bar.

A man was kicked out of Polo Grounds Pub and Grill, where a Super Bowl watch party was being held, according to NBC Bay Area. Police said he returned minutes later and began shooting into the crowded bar.

Bartender Michael Bowens told NBC Bay Area that he heard two or three shots when he was in the bar. Bowens said the man ran back to the bar, fired two more times (one of them through the window) and then drove away. No one was hit by any of the bullets.

“It could have been a lot worse, with something like that, with six shots fired just randomly,” Bowens said. “It could have ricocheted and hit anybody. I think everybody is just kind of lucky in the sense nobody was hurt.”

Police said the man fled in an SUV on 4th Street and collided with a gray sedan. They said the man then crashed into a pole before getting out of the car and fleeing on foot, according to Kron 4.

People at the party said the man had been fighting with a woman and was booted from the bar, ABC 7 reported.

Police arrested the man and recovered a gun, according to ABC 7.
