Puppy gets her head stuck in a tire. Watch California firefighters come to her rescue
A 3-month-old puppy in California got herself in a bit of an jam. Luckily, local firefighters came to her rescue.
An Australian cattle dog got her head stuck inside the wheel of a spare tire and couldn’t wiggle out, according to a news release from Riverside County Animal Services.
Her owners supposedly reported their dog’s problem to Animal Services, and an animal services officer tried to set her free.
“He tried to use oil to lubricate the pup’s head and attempted to slip the head through the way it came,” the news release said. “However, the pup appeared to have swelling in her neck. ”
The puppy and tire were transported to Coachella Valley Animal Campus so veterinarians could figure out the best way to help.
She was sedated, and officials asked the Riverside County Fire Department to help set the puppy free. Two firefighters used a Sawzall to cut the wheel.
“Within a few moments, the cut was made and out came the pup, a 3-month-old Australian cattle dog,” the news release says. “The puppy quickly ate some food after the rescue. She’ll rest overnight and be under observation until her return to her rightful owners.”
