Woman hit and killed arguing on highway about fender-bender, California cops say
A woman arguing with the driver of another vehicle after a fender-bender early Sunday on Highway 101 died when a third vehicle struck her, The Mercury News reports.
The series of crashes took place at 1:43 a.m. on Highway 101 near the Highway 92 connector in San Mateo in the San Francisco Bay Area, KNTV reported.
California Highway Patrol officers say that after a Dodge Charger and Toyota Yaris collided, a passenger in the Yaris got out to argue with the driver of the Charger, KPIX reported.
The woman who had exited the Yaris was hit and killed by a passing Toyota Camry as she walked along the highway, The Mercury News reported.
The drivers of the Charger and Camry both were arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, KPIX reported. The identifies of the woman and the other drivers were not released.
The crash closed several lanes of southbound Highway 101 until 5:38 a.m., KNTV reported.
