Wildflowers putting on a colorful show in Sierra foothills

From Lake Elsinore near San Diego to the Carrizo Plain just west of the southern San Joaquin Valley, wildflowers are putting on a show this spring thanks to a particularly wet winter.

Now the blanket of color is beginning to spread across the Sierra foothillls on the Valley’s east side.

And while Saturday’s forecast (cloudy with a chance of showers) might diminish the day, Sunday’s forecast is for partly sunny skies that should make for a good viewing opportunity.
