The Santa Maria Times will stop publishing a Monday paper.

The last Monday edition went out this week, according to a note to subscribers. Starting next week, Monday stories will be published online only at Those stories will also be printed in the Sunday or Tuesday print editions.

Monday's comics, puzzles and TV listings will also be in Sunday's newspaper.

The Santa Maria Times is owned by Lee Central Coast Newspapers, which also owns Times Press-Recorder and Adobe Press.

The company also announced the Times Press-Recorder would shut down after Friday because of decreases in advertising revenue and increases in costs.

Lee Central Coast Newspapers managing editor Marga Cooley said the change is a reflection on how the company is changing its business model as a whole and moving toward more digital content.

The weekly Adobe Press will experience some changes, starting June 3 with a revamped publication that focuses less on self-created content and more on entertainment and community stories pulled from the company’s other news outlets.
