Downtown SLO businesses recognized for beautification efforts

Twenty businesses have been recognized by the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association for making physical or aesthetic improvements aimed at keeping downtown beautiful in 2015.

Top honors include the Mayor’s Award, this year given to The Townhomes at Old Church Place, and the Chairperson’s Award, given to Bill Roalman Bike Boulevard Expansion, at the intersection of Morro and Pacific streets.

Other honorees noted at the 27th annual Beautification Awards Social in March were:

▪  New construction: Old Mission School annex.

▪  Tenant improvements (new and remodels): Sweetie Cup Tea House, Bluebird Salon, Spencer Makenzie’s, Bello Mundo Cafe, JCC Federation, Level Beauty Bar, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, HumanKind Fair Trade, 2 Blondes Boutique.

▪  Facade improvements: The Collection on Marsh.

▪  Signage/awning: Ambiance Clothing Boutique, Straight Down Clothing.

▪  Merchandising: Change of a Dress, Bath & Body Works, Len Collective, Passport and Patrick James Inc.
