Morro Bay company offers free house cleaning for cancer patients
Crystal Dove Cleaning, a cleaning company based in Morro Bay, offers free house cleaning to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Owner Pam Beach, who started the cleaning company in 2000, began offering cancer treatment patients free house cleaning about 2 1/2 years ago. Beach said she was inspired to offer the free cleaning services after a longtime client developed cancer.
The company takes on about three patients at a time; each patient receives one deep house cleaning monthly for three consecutive months.
Beach solicits donations and pays the rest of the costs herself. Beach said she spends about $1,000 a month on free cleaning.
The company relies on donations to keep the service available; donations can be made to www.gofundme.com/clean4free.
