CoastHills announces several new hires

CoastHills Credit Union, which has more than 59,000 members, more than $850 million in assets and 11 branches in San Luis Obispo, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz and Ventura counties, has announced several hires in recent months.

Suzanne Leedale, former chief executive officer of SLO Credit Union, has been named vice president of branch operations.

“Suzanne’s experience as an industry leader is a tremendous asset,” CoastHills President and CEO Jeff York said in a news release. “This position will be crucial as we expand into new territories.” Leedale transitioned SLO Credit Union to a community-chartered financial institution, which opened its membership to more people in San Luis Obispo County, the release said. In 2009, The Tribune recognized her as one of its “Top 20 Under 40” leaders younger than 40 who excel in both their professional accomplishments and volunteerism.

Paul Cook was named senior vice president and chief information officer, Kristin Worthley was hired as education manager, and Kevin Hemme and Michael Johnson joined the bank’s wealth management department.

Other new appointments include Cathy Cachu as assistant vice president, commercial lending. She oversees business services of the credit union, including underwriting, processing and business development through mentoring branch managers, according to a news release.

Scott Doi has been named assistant vice president, retail sales, overseeing relationship managers and lending specialists for CoastHills in addition to coordinating branch sales and various service activities.

Joshua D. Scroggin, a former sports reporter and interactivity leader at The Tribune, was named social media officer, guiding social media efforts and supporting the marketing team in website optimization, content creation and communications strategy.
