Sunset Drive-in in SLO named 10th best drive-in theater in United States

Sunset Drive-in in San Luis Obispo has been ranked the 10th best drive-in movie theater in the United States by travel site TripAdvisor – the only one included from California.

The TripAdvisor Popularity Index took into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews on its website.

"Drive-in movie theaters often evoke a nostalgic feeling for years gone by," said Brooke Ferencsik, director of communications for TripAdvisor, noting that the 10 selected "offer affordable admission and a unique viewing experience that is sure to provide fun for families of all ages."

Sunset Drive-In has been operating year-round since 1950, TripAdvisor said, featuring more than 500 parking spots for film fans to enjoy the shows.

The top drive-in movie theater? That was Skyway Drive-In Theatre in Fish Creek, Wisconsin.
